Mayor's Ad Hoc Committee for the Art 1986
Worked with artists and arts organizations to monitor panel selection for granting agencies in Georgia to ensure diversity of members and inclusion of artists in the process; established legal right of artists to be funded on individual basis by state and county granting agencies researched.
Researched types of grants funded to individual artists in seven southern state arts councils with emphasis on terms of the contract between artists and states in granting fellowships and service grants.
Met with NEA representatives in Washington and with the director of the New York Foundation for the Arts in New York City to discuss problems involved in seeking funding for individual artists.

Committee of Georgia Artists, Georgia Council for the Arts 1985-1986
Organized ad hoc committee of Georgia artists and arts organizations to serve as information network for the arts community in response to the Georgia Council for the Arts proposed withdrawal from the Southern Arts Federation.
Requested a series of meetings and presentations with the Director of Georgia Council and the full Council.
Acted as liaison between the Governor's office and the Committee of Georgia Artists in asking the Governor to step in to slow the impending withdrawal. Provided information to the council and the governor's representative on the operational procedures of national, regional and state arts councils, tracing the funding from the NEA to the SAF and finally to the GCA.
Presented this research in a formal meeting that included the Council members, representatives of the NEA, area arts organizations and local artists. Each group spoke in order to provide the council with realistic facts about the consequences of such an act on the local arts presenters and on artists' access to grants.
Presented the council with petitions that reflected the community's concern over the potential loss of vital arts programs in Georgia.

Arts Festival of Atlanta 1986
Evaluated quality of current visual arts program. Implemented changes in the 1987 program by including women and minorities in the planning and selection process, created exhibitions for media arts and performance to be presented on Atlanta television, radio and in alternative public spaces.
Developed new program for the selection of artists to create site specific sculptures for three city parks.

Nexus Contemporary Art Center, Atlanta 1986
Acted as liaison in negotiations between the Board of Directors and community artists concerning proposed changes in the selection process of local artists for the Nexus Studio Artists Program.
Documented history of Nexus Studio Program to determine diversity of artists chosen and average duration of prior residencies.
Researched national and state policies on selection of peer panels and the criterion used by these panels to review visual artists for short-term residencies.
Presented documentation to artists and Board for consideration in their long range plans for the Studio Program.

Southern Arts Federation, Atlanta 1983-1984
Conceived and designed traveling exhibition of ceramics for Piedmont Craftsmen in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Organized opening exhibition in conjunction with NCECA conference in the Spring of 1984 in Atlanta. Located exhibition space, supervised the installation, coordinated public relations, administered funds from SAP for the tour;
Documented artwork, prepared installation manual and condition report book.

Arts Festival of Atlanta 1980-1981
Originated first Regional Crafts Exhibition for the Arts Festival while director of Georgia Designer Craftsmen.
Set up selection procedures, wrote and produced the exhibition catalog and raised money from the Atlanta business community to purchase selected works from the exhibition for the High Museum in Atlanta.
Supervised preparation of exhibition space and designed the object installation.
Organized The Southern Crafts Symposium, which featured Lloyd Herman, director of the Renwick Gallery, moderating a panel of four regional artists. The symposium took place at the High Museum of Art in conjunction with the exhibition.

Planned and conducted quarterly statewide meetings.
Wrote and published a monthly newsletter, coordinated the selection panel to review applicants for membership.
Co-sponsored with other regional arts organizations a program of visiting artists' workshops and lectures. Through grants and corporate sponsorship, developed funding for regional exhibitions and created an endowment for the High Museum in Atlanta to purchase contemporary crafts.
